The Roller Coaster Ride!!

It is now 9:34 and the mood is more subdued here at the hospital. None of us was prepared for what we saw when we went to visit my dad after recovery. I sit here trying to describe it and I am struggling to find the words. He is fighting the trachiotomy tube and is in so much pain. We had thought that they would have him heavily sedated but the Dr. does not want him to be. Seeing my dad in so much discomfort and so distressed has been traumatizing to all of us, especially my mom. It is bound to be a long night. Please remember him in your prayers tonight. Pray for him to be be able to relax and calm down so that he can begin to heal. We appreciate you all and thank you for your messages of encouragement.

Dear loved ones,
We have been on the road most of the day since we finished our shift in the Temple in Boise this morning. Our thoughts and prayers for you have been continual. We are glad that Marty made it out of surgery with good results and that the staff was good to keep you posted on the progress. We can only imagine how hard it must be for all of you to witness his discomfort and aggitation along with all of the paraphernalia that goes along with the surgery. Our hearts go out to you and we will continue to pray for comfort and peace for him and for all of you. Hang in there and let us know if we can be of help. We got both of your phone messages LaRee but didn’t think we should use up your phone time or complicate your precious resting time. Thank you for letting know. Love you so much. Love, Randy and SunDee

I'm so sorry Marty is going through such a challenging time. I (Cheri) remember what my mother endured a couple of years ago after major surgery---she was hooked up to so many gadgets and IV's it looked like something out of a science fiction movie. =) The good news is that in time, she improved and she was moved from ICU into a regular hospital room.

It's amazing what the medical world can do these days. But there is always room for improvement. I'll pray that the doctors and staff will be guided in their treatment of Marty, and for peace of heart and mind for all family members. I'll also make sure Marty's name is placed in the Logan Temple today.

We love you guys (and girls) and our hearts are with you during this challenging ordeal.

Much love,

Kennon & Cheri

LaRee, Angie and Deid,
We are so glad that we were able to come and spend time with you at the hospital. You are all in our thought and prayers. Marty is a very stong person and I (Gordon) know that he will come through this. It was very hard to see him like that last night for sure, but when he gave me that wink....I know that he will be OK. We will be visiting again.
All of our love to all of you.
Gordon, Michelle and the Kids.
